“Only that day dawns to which we are awake. There is more day to dawn. The sun is but a morning star.”
– Henry David Thoreau
I love teaching groups, small or large, and have taught during Sunday morning sermons, half-day workshops, all-weekend retreats, and seminary graduate courses on family therapy and pastoral counseling.
Working
on Kaua’i allows me to offer visiting individuals and couples
opportunities to tailor a retreat to fit their individual needs.
Perhaps we might work together three mornings in a week, leaving the
rest of the week to sail along the Napali coast, drive up the Waimea
Canyon, hike in Koke’e State Park, snorkel at Poi’ipu Beach, or to drive
up to the North Shore and play golf at The Prince, rated one of the top
100 courses in the United States.
Let me share some of the reactions I’ve received from past classes, seminars, and workshops.
“Susan’s
lectures were excellent. She focuses on what is most important. She
varied her approach so it was never boring. Her assignments always
challenging. Stretched us, also uniquely—our results were shared with
others or done with others so they built unity and relationships of
class members.”
“I appreciate the way in which spiritual realities were integrated
with psychological concepts. Susan was excellent. Most helpful was her
self-disclosure and sharing living examples of the process of
integration and wholeness.”
“Thank you—I never thought my husband would enjoy it as much as he did!”
“Susan, you are a gifted teacher. Your presentation styles makes the material come to life and it makes sense.”
“I really appreciated your willingness and enthusiasm to teach this
class. The handouts were great. The references were terrific. I felt
comfortable with you and I think you made the participants feel at ease.
